5 Best Gaming Communities
Newer and smaller communities can struggle to get noticed. Often, the best way to stand out is by creating something unique or interesting. There are many gaming communities out there, each with their own set of positives and negatives.
Occasionally, one stands out because of its excellent management, or its focus on a certain type of player, for example. Here we take a look at the top 5 gaming communities that are worth joining in 2019 if you’re looking for new friends or players to regularly play with.
If you’re an avid gamer, then you’ve almost certainly heard of Twitch. As one of the most popular games streaming site online, it enables you to stream your gameplay live, as well as watch various other gaming content from others.
Using an established site like this is often the best way to get yourself out there, as well as connect with other players. The main Twitch site is aimed more at viewers, whereas the Twitch Gaming community is more for streamers and their viewers. For those looking for new friends, the Twitch Gaming Community is perfect.
With over 27 million members, it’s one of the most popular gaming communities online, particularly for those who play a lot of multiplayer games. The community offers lots of different channels, such as general gaming, first-person shooters, role-playing games, and many more.
Dark Souls 3 Multiplayer Group
One of the most original communities on this list is the Dark Souls 3 Multiplayer Group. This is a group of dedicated Souls fans that play together on a regular basis, and are currently playing the latest entry in the series, Dark Souls 3.
Players can either join the Discord server and chat with the community, or join their regular multiplayer sessions. The group has a number of regular activities, including tournaments, PvP, and PvE events. They also host discussion nights, and regular speedruns. The group is largely focused on cooperative multiplayer, with PvP only occurring at specific events.
Like Twitch, the PlayStation Community is a great place for streamers and their viewers to connect. As Sony’s own community, there’s a steady stream of players with a wide range of interests.
You won’t get the full range of interests like Twitch, but you can still find a lot of players who are interested in similar games as you, as well as chat about your gameplay. Although it’s primarily a PS gaming community, they also have a channel on the Facebook platform.
The Xbox Club is a great place for players of one specific console, with a huge membership base. This makes it a great place to find like-minded players who regularly play online, as well as connect with them in an online forum.
The Xbox Club is a great place for those who predominantly play on Xbox, and are interested in the latest games, such as Sea of Thieves, and Forza Horizon 4. Like other console-based communities, it’s not a good place to meet players who play on different platforms. If you’re looking to connect with other Sea of Thieves players, or Forza Horizon 4 racers, then this is the place to be.
